Impact of Leadership and Board Changes on IGT

International Game Technology PLC (IGT) has recently undergone significant changes to its leadership and Board of Directors, as announced on March 21, 2024. Marco Drago, a longstanding member of the IGT Board, has decided to step down from his role as a non-executive director, effective at the close of the company’s Annual General Meeting scheduled for May 14, 2024. Until then, he will continue to fulfill his responsibilities for the remainder of his term.

New Appointments and Roles

Enrico Drago has been appointed as a non-executive director of the IGT Board. Additionally, Enrico will resign from his current position as CEO of IGT PlayDigital. Gil Rotem, the current President of iGaming at IGT PlayDigital, will expand his role to become President of IGT PlayDigital, reporting directly to Vince Sadusky, IGT’s CEO. These changes are set to take effect on April 1, 2024. Enrico Drago will also maintain his position as vice chairman of De Agostini S.p.A.

Comments from Executives:

Marco Sala, IGT Executive Chair of the Board, expressed gratitude for Marco Drago’s service and commitment, stating that Enrico Drago’s appointment and departure from his executive role at IGT align with the company’s vision for growth and transformation.

Marco Drago, in his statement, reflected on his time with IGT, noting the company’s evolution into a global gaming leader and expressing confidence in its future growth.

Enrico Drago thanked the IGT PlayDigital team for their accomplishments over the past years and expressed enthusiasm for supporting IGT in defining its vision and strategy in his new capacity.

Executive and Director Profiles:

– Marco Drago: A Non-executive Director of the IGT Board since April 2015, he has held various leadership positions in several companies. He graduated from Bocconi University with a B.Sc. in Economics and Business.

– Enrico Drago: CEO of IGT PlayDigital since September 2021, he has been with the company’s PlayDigital sector since 2018. He holds an MBA from IESE Business School, University of Navarra, and a B.Sc. in Business Administration from Bocconi University.

– Gil Rotem: President of iGaming for IGT PlayDigital since 2021, he has over two decades of experience in the iGaming sector, including significant tenure at bet365.

IGT’s Strategic Shift and Future Outlook

IGT’s recent leadership changes mark a strategic shift for the company as it looks to bolster its position in the global gaming industry. Marco Drago’s decision to step down from the Board of Directors comes at a time when IGT is focusing on enhancing its operational efficiency and driving long-term growth.

Enrico Drago’s appointment as a non-executive director signifies a new chapter for IGT. His wealth of experience in the PlayDigital business, coupled with his role as vice chairman of De Agostini S.p.A., brings a fresh perspective to the Board. Enrico’s strategic vision and understanding of global growth opportunities are expected to align well with IGT’s future strategic priorities.

Gil Rotem’s expanded role as President of IGT PlayDigital further strengthens the company’s digital gaming capabilities. His track record of success in the iGaming sector, including key contributions to IGT’s growth and acquisitions, positions him well to drive PlayDigital’s continued success.

IGT’s focus on digital gaming, particularly iGaming and sports betting, reflects the evolving landscape of the gaming industry. With the global iGaming market expected to reach new heights in the coming years, IGT is strategically positioned to capitalize on this growth.

The company’s commitment to responsible gaming practices and delivering entertaining gaming experiences across all channels underscores its dedication to sustainability and player satisfaction. By leveraging its innovative technology, operational expertise, and compelling content, IGT aims to maintain its leadership position in the gaming market.

Looking ahead, IGT is well-positioned for continued growth and innovation. The company’s strong leadership team, coupled with its focus on digital gaming and commitment to responsible gaming, sets the stage for a successful future in the dynamic gaming industry.
