Detailed TOP-5 Online Casino Comparison of 2022

In this article, I will review the top 5 iGaming projects selected from Data40’s gambling website dataset.

Previously, I have already examined the top horse race betting, lottery and websites with specific functionality.

This study is aimed at analyzing top online casinos, that also offer sports betting and lotteries, in terms of attendance and based on the previously collected iGaming website dataset.

Some of the collected iGaming websites hold licenses to work in certain countries and do not allow worldwide registrations. For this reason, the following websites have been skipped in the current study: PCH, Wplay, Betplay, Bovada, Hollywoodbets, Betano, Betika, and William Hill.

Website traffic was assessed via Similarweb service based on April 2022 data.

As a result, I present you a list of websites that we will analyze in this article:

Bet365

The Bet365 online casino ranks #1 in terms of traffic in our iGaming website dataset.

Bet365 is one of the largest services in Europe and around the world. The company’s reputation is based on numerous years of experience in the betting segment of the gambling market. Their office first opened its doors in the UK in 1974 where it has also received all the necessary licenses.

The website offers games in the following categories:

1. Sport Games;

Including the three main subcategories:

• “Sports”;
• “In-play”;
• “My bets.”

2. Casino Games

The “Casino” category’s home page displays popular casino titles with a list of recently launched games and recommendations based on what the client has previously played;

Bet365 hosts its own, “home-made” slots under the “Originals” section;

The website provides separate highlights for the “Dual Drop” jackpot mechanics and labels supported games.

3. Live Casino Games

Bet365 has its own live studio with an exclusive Playtech-provided design for roulette and card games.

4. Other Games

The “Games” category combines the content of “Casino” and “Live Casino” categories and is divided into the following subcategories:

There is an extra category called “Simulation” where you can bet on real sports competitions and win by getting their results right. Note that the results here are calculated using a random number generator and so do not reflect those of the real events.

In conclusion — a few words on product recommendations

Based on our review of the available top casinos, I was able to identify the following recommendations for improving the user experience:

• The footer often contains mainly technical information and is rarely useful to the client. However, if there is no information about casino licensors, association membership, quick access to the documentation or an FAQ — it may affect newcomer trust towards the website;
• The game filter, such as the one employed by Casino Caliente, allows the user to quickly and conveniently find the games they need;
• A summary of every title in a pop-up menu, like the one you see at Bet365, should give the user a brief technical description of the game. Bet9ja Casino goes even further and, in addition to a purely technical description, provides detailed information and screenshots of the game. Such references should help newcomers to choose a game quickly and contribute towards their desire to come back and play some more later;

Casinos sometimes mix games from different categories into one or duplicate the same games, putting them into different categories.
